Another post here that I wrote early this morning, after being awoken by sound. I wrote it on Wordpad before I had even connected to the internet.

The mood is ripe for revolution but will anyone reach for the fruit? Is its appearance tempting enough, can they know to reach for what they have not yet tasted in this lifetime? It was almost an eon ago that we had a political revolution. From any perceived side, the agreement seems to be there, revolution is wanted. Perhaps that concede works against us, with some so eager to dismiss the words of any journalist too popular, of any MP no matter motive, of anyone whom does not appear to truly suffer. Clearly old relics such as The Daily Mail are a massive challenge needing to be confronted. Our so called leaders are nothing but puppets, brought into office by journalists with selfish agendas. Paul Dacre, current The Daily Mail editor, is known as a bully around the offices. This bullying is what the media itself does, not intelligently, not collectively, but achieves all the same. I am so sick and tired of seeing someone pick up a newspaper and say "Oh, wow. I never knew that," and "Oh, that's shocking. I would never have believed it." The ability to analyse text and react critically has been stripped away from these individuals, gone is critical thinking and in place is an assumption or even reliance that what is written is true. The word of God. It is printed, therefore it must be correct. But this extends way past the barrier of so called absolute truth and reaches both indirectly and directly the concept of opinion; as fluid turned to vapour it floats insidiously toward the zone of opinion while as solid it launches itself from cannon directly toward that zone. The actual concept of opinion is and has been taken away from people. How could this not shock everyone to the core? Well, some people have no opinion-how could they if so afflicted?!

Rebooting and rechallenging British and by extension worldwide media is a priority. Oh absolutely. It is not even as simple as performing a balancing act, creating a leftwing centric newspaper, it is about allowing for all kinds of freedoms, one of which is less aggressive pressure upon readers. Someone should be able to pick up a newspaper and feel able to be critical of each and every piece read but newspapers pander to the prejudices of the reader, triggering emotions and defense systems designed to have them perform a situation appropriate call to arms.

I ask you, how do you think we should go about executing this reboot? I have some ideas of a new newspaper and the independent blogs set up around the world help add some colour and independent thinking to this worryingly narrow minded world but I want to hear other people's ideas.
