I was reading up on the new Wolverine film today, titled Logan and from my usual travel between links via Wikipedia I ended up discovering a new show titled Legion, set in a Marvel universe, apparently the film series universe and yet, typically, ambiguous as to how much so if really at all. A quick absorption informs that the show centers around the son of our legendary Charles Xavier and is thought to be mentally unwell. So naturally this seized my curiosity even tighter and I read through cautiously to see how such a theme would be implemented. I will say one immediate thing: I was pleased that the subject of mental illness was immediately suggested to be deserving of appropriate embrace.

Without even a promotional trailer to feed ourselves with impressions of actuality are currently non-existence but I have now been informed of a show not only potentially interesting and offering a slightly altered insight into the Marvel world but a show being crafted by people whom hopefully understand to some degree the delicate nature of issues brought up. As one was quoted as saying, mental illness should not be used for entertainment purposes and so it must be a serious structure that is well thought out rather than some soap opera storyline drudged up for a few weeks and to explain a sudden bar fight someplace.

I wrote this piece months ago and only just got around to posting.
