The future ahead

Today I finished registering for this year's Great Birmingham 10K run which will take place in October. It was really important to me to be able to run in memory of Alice in 2018 and raise money for Mind and now I am able to do so again. Alice was born in October so that makes the month very fitting indeed. I am also furthering carefully and gently plans to move out of Bottetourt road in preparation to buy a house, visit family once the covid threat has subsided enough and potentially take on one or two side jobs to help me save for a house.

Do you know what I just came to realise? Donald Trump is the Garak of the real world. Garak, being a hugely likeable character, something, unfortunately, we find hard to say about Donald Trump, it is not for me to desire to hate people but he is one with a detestable character, but the two sharing a great love for telling lies. Sometimes watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Garak's verbal maneuvers gives me the impression that he himself is starting to believe his own lies and thus can no longer tell truth apart from fiction.
